Grayson Hall is chairman and chief executive officer of Regions Financial Corporation and leads the company’s Operating Committee and Executive Council.

Hall began his banking career when he joined Regions’ Management Training Program in 1980. He served in roles of increasing responsibility in Operations, Technology, Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. Hall was elected vice chairman and a member of the boards of directors of Regions Financial Corporation and Regions Bank in 2008 and was named president and chief operating officer in October 2009. He was named president and chief executive officer in April 2010 and assumed the role of chairman, president and chief executive officer in May 2013. In December 2017, he became chairman and chief executive officer.

He graduated from the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee, in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in economics. In 1980, he received a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He attended Stonier Graduate School of Banking and executive development programs at Harvard Business School.

Hall serves on the public company boards of Alabama Power and Vulcan Materials. In addition, serves on the boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and the Birmingham Business Alliance and is a director on the boards of the Newcomen Society of Alabama and the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama. He was named as a Trustee of the Crimson Tide Foundation and served as a representative on the Federal Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors 2014 – 2016.

John Turner is president of Regions Bank and Regions Financial Corporation. He is a member of the company’s Executive Council.

Before being named president in December 2017, Turner served as head of the Corporate Bank, a role he took on in 2014. He joined Regions in 2011 as president of the South Region, leading banking operations in Alabama, Mississippi, South Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle.

Before joining Regions, Turner was named president of Whitney National Bank and Whitney Holding Corporation in 2008 and was elected to the bank and holding company boards of directors. Before that he was responsible for all geographic line banking functions across the bank and served as the company’s Eastern Region President. Turner joined Whitney in 1994 as its Alabama regional president after nine years at AmSouth Bank, where he held senior consumer, commercial and business positions.

Turner holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Georgia. He serves on the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama, Business Council of Alabama, A Plus Education Foundation and Infirmary Health System boards. Turner is a former chairman of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, the Mobile Area Education Foundation and the United Way of Southwest Alabama. He is a graduate of Leadership Alabama and a former board member of Leadership Mobile.

David Turner joined Regions in 2006 and serves as Regions' chief financial officer. He is also a member of the company's Executive Council. Turner leads all finance operations, including strategic planning and corporate development, business analytics, investor relations, treasury, corporate tax, management planning and reporting, accounting and control.

Turner led the Internal Audit Division for Regions before being named chief financial officer in 2010. His responsibilities included overseeing various audits of the lines of business and the overall corporation with reporting to the Audit Committee and the Executive Council.

Prior to joining Regions, Turner served as an audit partner of KPMG LLP. He previously served Arthur Andersen in a number of positions, including: audit partner, audit manager, senior auditor and staff auditor.

Turner earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and attended Tulane University in Louisiana.

Turner serves on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for Junior Achievement of Greater Birmingham, Inc. and is a member of the Alabama Society of CPA's and the American Institute of CPA's.

John B. Owen

John Owen is head of Consumer Banking and Enterprise Services for Regions, which includes Collections, Bank Operations, Mortgage Operations, the Contact Center, Corporate Real Estate, Procurement, Information Technology, Corporate Marketing, and Digital Banking, in addition to Consumer Banking. He also is a member of the Executive Council for Regions.

Owen joined Regions in 2007 as head of Operations and Technology, where he served until 2009 when he was named head of the bank's Consumer Services Group. He also served two years as head of Business Lines, which included the Business Services, Consumer Services, Consumer Lending, and Wealth Management groups, before becoming head of the Regional Banking Group in 2014.

Prior to joining Regions, Owen was chief executive officer of Assurant Specialty Property, a Fortune 500 company based in Atlanta. He joined Assurant in 1998 as senior vice president of Information Technology. Owen also was senior vice president of global systems development for Citicorp Credit Services, chief information officer of North American operations for Arrow Electronics and senior vice president of technology for American Airlines. He began his career in information systems with McDonnell-Douglas.

Owen holds a bachelor's degree in Aviation Management from Auburn University School of Engineering in Auburn, Ala. He is a graduate of Leadership Alabama, a member of the Financial Services Roundtable, and a former board member for the Consumer Bankers Association. He serves on the boards of directors for the Birmingham Business Alliance, Innovation Depot, and the United Way of Central Alabama, and the advisory board for the UAB Collat School of Business.

Matt Lusco is Chief Risk Officer and leads the Risk Management Group, which is comprised of risk management operations, including Enterprise Risk, Compliance Risk, Operational Risk, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Business Services Credit, Credit Operations, Problem Asset Management, Risk Analytics and Regulatory Affairs. He is also a member of the company's Executive Council.

Lusco joined Regions in 2011, bringing over 30 years of audit, accounting and risk management expertise in a wide range of institutions. Prior to joining Regions, Lusco was managing partner in KPMG's offices in Birmingham, Alabama and Memphis, Tennessee. In this role, his primary focus was in providing audit and business advisory services to publicly and privately held companies, particularly commercial banks in the southeastern United States. Before joining KPMG, Lusco was with Arthur Andersen's Birmingham, Alabama, office from 1989 to 2002 and was managing partner from 1996 to 2002. From 1986 to 1988, Lusco worked in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's Office of the Chief Accountant in Washington, D.C. where he worked with OCC representatives and counterparts at the FDIC and Federal Reserve in policy development and in interpreting accounting and regulatory issues. He began his career in the Jackson, Mississippi office of Arthur Andersen in 1979.

Lusco graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and is a CPA in Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee. Matt's community and civic involvements have been varied and have included board and/or leadership positions with Operation New Birmingham, The Civic Club Foundation, The Birmingham International Festival, The American Heart Association and the Ole Miss Alumni Association. He is a member of the Birmingham Downtown Rotary Club, The Monday Morning Quarterback Club and was in the 2001 class of Leadership Birmingham.

Fournier J. "Boots" Gale, III is general counsel and corporate secretary for Regions Financial Corporation and serves on the company's Executive Council.

Prior to joining Regions in 2011, Gale was a founding partner of Maynard Cooper & Gale PC in Birmingham, Alabama. Since founding the firm in 1984, it has grown to be one of the Southeast's leading law firms. A hallmark of Gale's 40-year legal career has been his ability to understand new regulatory and legal environments and to help his diverse clients navigate complex issues.

Gale holds both a bachelor's degree and law degree from the University of Alabama, where he served as editor in chief of the Alabama Law Review. He is a former president of the University of Alabama Law School Foundation and has been active in many civic and community organizations, including Leadership Birmingham and Leadership Alabama. He has served as general counsel to the Business Council of Alabama since its inception.

Gale is a former president of both the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association. He was a member of the Alabama Commission on Higher Education for nine years and served as the chairman from 1998 to 2000. Nationally, he has served on the ABA Standing Committee of the Federal Judiciary (Eleventh District) and the Standing Committee on Alternative Dispute Resolution. He is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and has served on the Board of Directors of the American Judicature Society.


Brett D. Couch

Brett D. Couch

Brett Couch leads Regions Bank’s Corporate Real Estate and Procurement divisions. He is also a member of Regions’ Operating Committee.

Prior to assuming his current duties in 2018, Couch served as East Regional President and had previously been Mississippi state president and an area president in West Florida. Couch also has held various other leadership positions with Regions, including head of Business Banking, manager of Credit Review and commercial sales manager. Prior to joining Regions, he worked in National Accounts for SunTrust Bank.

Couch earned a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Alabama. He is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

Couch serves on the boards of directors of The First Tee of Tampa Bay, Enterprise Florida (Past Vice Chair), Florida Council of 100, Florida Chamber of Commerce and on the advisory board for Ballast Point Ventures. He also has prior leadership roles with the Tampa Metropolitan YMCA (past Governance Board Chair), the American Heart Association (Heart Walk Chair – 2007) and the United Way.

Barb Godin

Barb Godin joined Regions in 2003 and is Chief Credit Officer responsible for Credit Policy, Credit Administration and Problem Asset Management.  She is a member of the company's Operating Committee.

Before joining Regions, Godin served as executive vice president and chief consumer credit officer for KeyBank. For most of her career, she was with Scotiabank, serving in various positions including senior vice president of retail lending, vice president of credit risk management, director of collections and director of consumer underwriting.

Godin earned a degree in Finance and holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of Western Ontario. Godin is also a graduate of the International School of Banking.

Keith Herron is Head of Corporate Responsibility and Community Engagement for Regions. He oversees a number of enterprise functions, including Corporate Communications, the Regions Foundation, Community Affairs and Charitable Giving, Government Affairs and Economic Development, Fair and Responsible Banking, Customer Experience and Regions360. He is also a member of the Operating Committee for Regions.
 
Before his current role, Herron was South Region President, overseeing banking operations in Alabama, Mississippi, South Louisiana and the Florida panhandle. He also previously led Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions for Regions and served as Mid-South Region President, overseeing Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana. He joined the bank in 1988 and has served in senior risk and business roles, including Head of Credit Review and Area President for North Alabama, East Tennessee and Middle Tennessee.
 
Herron earned a bachelor’s degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., and a master’s degree in Finance from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. He also graduated with honors from Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware. 
 
Herron is a member of the Advisory Board for the Brock School of Business at Samford University, the Board of Directors for Vulcan Park and Museum, the Newcomen Society of Alabama, and the Alabama Capital Network Advisory Board. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Overseers for Samford University.
 

William E. Horton

William E. Horton

Bill Horton oversees commercial banking operations, serving small and middle market companies through relationship managers located across the company's footprint.

Before being named to his current role, Horton served as the Regional President, South Region, which includes Alabama, Mississippi, South Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle. He is a member of the company's Operating Committee.

Horton joined Regions’ Management Training Program in 1974 and has served throughout the bank's branch system. Before being named president of the South Region in 2014, he managed several areas in both Consumer and Business Services throughout his career, including the BankCard, Consumer Lending and Business Banking departments. He has also managed the Consumer Loan and Deposit Product Management teams. Horton organized and headed the bank’s Business Loan, Consumer Loan and Direct Loan Centers along with the Home Equity Lending department. He served as head of Mortgage Banking and Business Banking prior to leading the Community Banking segment of Regions’ Business Services Group.

Horton holds a bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

Horton is involved in a number of community activities, including serving on the board of the Birmingham Kiwanis Club, the Birmingham Educational Foundation, Railroad Park Foundation, A. G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club, Birmingham Business Alliance and the Lakeshore Foundation. He is past co-chair of the Central Alabama United Way Campaign and Board Chair REV Birmingham.


Ellen Jones

Ellen Jones joined Regions in 2009 and serves as the Head of Strategic Performance and Alignment.  In this role, she focuses on the alignment of business units, their strategic plans and their financial projections to the Corporate Strategy and longer term performance targets. Jones is also a member of the company’s Operating Committee. 

Before joining Regions, Ellen worked at Bank of America where she held senior level finance leadership positions in three of the company’s major business lines:  Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking and Wealth and Investment Management. In addition, she led the finance transition teams for two mergers: Fleet National Bank of Boston (2004) and the LaSalle National Bank in Chicago (2007).

Prior to Bank of America, Ellen spent ten years at Motorola, Inc. in Chicago. Her tenure there included various senior finance roles across several business lines in the communications and automotive sectors. She also served as a director of strategic planning and was charged with driving global alignment of business and corporate objectives, resources and compensation.

Ellen has a Masters in Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and she has an undergraduate degree in Accounting from University of Dayton. She has served as a business advisor to the State of Illinois Strategic Planning Advisory Council.  In addition, she serves on the boards of several not for profit organizations in the Birmingham area.  


David R. Keenan

Dave Keenan is Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Human Resources. Keenan is also a member of the company's Operating Committee.

Prior to being named Head of Human Resources for the company in 2010, Keenan managed staffing, retention, training, employee relations, and organizational development for the company's 16-state footprint and for Morgan Keegan.

Prior to joining Regions in 2003, Keenan served as director of Human Resources at Frito-Lay, a division of Pepsico.

Keenan earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Furman University. He earned a master's degree in Human Resources from Boston University in Heidelberg, Germany, while serving in the United States Army.

Scott Peters is head of Regions Consumer Banking Group, which is comprised of the Retail Bank, Mortgage, and Indirect Lending and Partnerships. These business lines include Branch Bankers and Retail Leadership; Mortgage Sales; Indirect Auto Lending; Consumer Indirect Lending Partnerships; Consumer Deposit and Loan Product Management; and Consumer Strategy.

Prior to joining Regions in 2004, Peters served as executive vice president of Fidelity Personal Investments, with segment management responsibility for 2.6 million households, $1.05 billion in revenues, and $230 billion in assets under management. He joined Fidelity in 1998 from KeyCorp, where he served as director of Mass Market Retail Banking and was responsible for the bank’s 2,500 branch-based retail sales people. He began his banking career in 1987 with Citibank, where he opened and managed a de novo branch, ultimately serving as director of U.S. Core Product Marketing. In that role, he was responsible for all aspects of consumer credit and deposit product marketing and product development for Citibank’s U.S. retail bank.

Peters holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Marketing from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, Connecticut.

He currently serves on the board of the Bank Administration Institute and the Consumer Bankers Association.

William D. Ritter

Bill Ritter joined Regions in 1993 and is responsible for the Wealth Management Group, which includes Trust, Private Banking and Insurance. Ritter is a member of the company's Operating Committee. 

Prior to assuming his current role in 2011, Ritter served as president for the Central Region, overseeing all banking operations in Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. Throughout his career at Regions, Ritter has served in a number of management positions, including North Central Alabama area executive; commercial banking executive with management responsibility for all Commercial Middle Market; Corporate Banking; and Public, Institutional and Not for Profit activity. He has also served as commercial banking sales manager in North Central Alabama and as the business banking sales manager for North Central Alabama.

Ritter earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University and is a graduate of the Stonier School of Banking at Georgetown.

Ritter serves on the board of directors for the McWane Science Center; Innovation Depot; Alabama Symphony; and, Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama.

Ronald G. Smith
Ronnie Smith is head of Corporate Banking at Regions, which includes Commercial Banking, Large Corporate Banking, Capital Markets, Real Estate Banking, Regions Business Capital, the Debt Products Organization, and Corporate Banking Group Administration. Smith is also a member of the company’s Operating Committee. 
 
Smith began his banking career at Regions as a management trainee in 1981. He has held various leadership roles, including corporate division manager, city president, area president for Mississippi/North Louisiana and regional president of the Southwest region. Prior to assuming his current role, he was Mid-America region president, overseeing banking operations in Middle and West Tennessee, Texas, North Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Iowa. 
 
Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting from Mississippi College, and graduated from the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking, as well as the KPMG Commercial Banking Institute.
 
He serves on the boards of Tennessee Bankers Association, Regions Foundation of Tennessee, the Vanderbilt/Owen School Board of Visitors, Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Woodward-Hines Foundation, and Mississippi Valley Title.
