Thoughtful helper shares life lessons and extra attention with other
widows
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Bank today announced that Kathleen Bowley, an assistant branch
manager in Bridgeton, Mo., is the July 2016 recipient of the Regions
Bank Better Life Award. The Better Life Award is the top honor given to
a Regions associate for outstanding dedication and job performance as
well as exemplary involvement and commitment to the community.

Bowley regularly reaches out to widows to teach life lessons that she
has personally learned.
"Since I lost my husband in 1997, I've met customers who are also
widows," Bowley said. "I try to give special attention to them, help
them with their banking needs, but also try to be supportive, go the
extra mile for them."
Sometimes, that extra mile includes a lift to the grocery store or just
sitting to chat or watch TV. It all grows from Bowley's desire to help.
"Kathy's rapport with the customers is amazing," said Branch Manager
Brian Hartman. "She's the reason why they say our branch feels like a
small, hometown bank. They know she cares, and they look for her
whenever they come into the branch."
Bowley's furry friends also appreciate when she comes around. She
volunteers weekly at St. Animal Pet Adoptions, a non-profit organization
in St. Ann, Mo.
"I give the animals food, water and medicine. I walk them, play with
them and clean up after them," Bowley said.
She also helps organize adoption drives at local pet stores and
community events. Regions will donate $1,000 to St. Animal in honor of
Bowley's Better Life Award recognition.
